CliftonStrengths (StrengthsFinder) Team Workshop

After running a CliftonStrengths plus ontological team coaching session for the management team a couple of months ago, I had the privilege of following up with a team workshop for the wider group. This group of participants work in the public sector and is taking part in the CliftonStrengths Team session for the very first time. I was glad I am able to run a session for them. It was a fun filled morning!

CliftonStrengths Workshop & Ontological Team Coaching - Wargaming Asia

It was a very fulfilling day spent with a group of seven HR managers.
1. The group was very engaged, participative and took risks to learn.
2. I use the design format of a Cliftonstrengths workshop followed by an ontological team coaching to focus on team application. It went very well.

Objectives of the session:
1. For each HR professional to gain greater self awareness and dive deeper into their individual strengths and weaknesses.

2. For the team to deepen their level of trust collectively.

3. For the team to understand the strengths and aspirations of each person to better collaborate, and jointly make decisions together.

Brief Summary of the Day:
MORNING: We started with a CliftonStrengths discovery workshop, covering the top 5 CliftonStrengths results. There were lots of conversations and activities to help the team engage with each other in a very light-hearted way. There were lots of laughter and many great questions were asked. The activities were specifically designed to help each leader listen to how each other think, feel and behave. This set up the context for the team to build trust and to go deeper with each other as the day moves along.

AFTERNOON: We started with a focus on application. I did some ontological team coaching. I coached the team in the area of trusts and emotions and there were some useful conversations on team mood. Each person committed to bringing the mood that will best serve the team.

CliftonStrengths (StrengthsFinder) Workshop - Singapore Tourism Board (CMIT)

Fantastic time running my 20th CliftonStrengths (StrengthsFinder) workshop for Singapore Tourism Board. The team was very engaged and this is probably the most “Singaporean” team I have done a workshop for. The most top 5 strengths of the team almost mirrored that of the top 5 most common strengths represented by Singaporeans (based on the data that was provided by Gallup).

Was glad once again that I could facilitate a workshop that helped the team understand their team dynamics through understanding their individual and collective strengths. Hope that the session will be more helpful as the team collaborate with each other.

CliftonStrengths (StrengthsFinder) Leadership Workshop - International Group (STB)

What a joy to be back at Singapore Tourism Board. This is the 17th session I have done for STB and it continues to be a joy to be trusted.

We covered the full 34 CliftonStrengths results of the whole leadership team for the international group in STB. This leadership team is so much fun to be around. They were warm, participative and eager to learn.

Integrating ontological approach, we explored the strengths mindset and discussed the case for strengths. We also discussed in depth the diversity of strengths represented and how each person leads differently.

Felt totally at ease and at home with this group of leaders! Thankful that I could connect with Serene Tan again. In the 17 sessions I have conducted over the years, she has probably been in four of those. So great to connect with her again.

CliftonStrengths Workshop and Ontological Team Coaching - Singapore Public Service

This program felt like the perfect case study for me as I look to create one that brings the best of what I have to meet the needs of organisations and teams.

It was a very fulfilling day spent with a group of seven directors. It was fulfilling for two reasons.
1. The group was very engaged, participative and took risks to learn.
2. The designed format of a Cliftonstrengths workshop followed by an ontological team coaching to focus on application went very well.

Objectives of the session:
1. For each leader to gain greater self awareness and dive deeper into their individual strengths and weaknesses.

2. For the team to deepen their level of trust collectively.

3. For the team to understand the strengths and aspirations of each person (particularly the team leader) to better collaborate, and jointly make decisions together.

Brief Summary of the Day:
MORNING: We started with a CliftonStrengths discovery workshop, covering the full 34 CliftonStrengths results.

I started by inviting each team member to share openly about how they felt about the team dynamics and trust level of the team. I also invited the team leader to share the aspirations for the team.

As we move along, there was an opportunity to create a shift in the team’s mood, I Invited the team to take some risks together. We did some trust building activities and gave each other real time feedback. The mood of the team started to shift and the conversations went deeper. Team members started to make requests to each other to help with uncovering leadership blindspots and to grow together. One team member summed up the discussion - “we have never had this kind of conversation with each other in a team setting. Let’s continue to open up, take risks and build deeper trust with each other.”

We rounded the day by going back to CliftonStrengths and ended off with conversations of how we want to leverage each person’s strengths. There was a deeper sense of respect and camaraderie created by the end of the day.

Overall workshop ratings (7 participants): 9.1/10
Feedback given by Team Leader: “I really benefitted from understanding my team members better and having the opportunity to articulate what I hope to see in the org and the support I need. Victor is a great facilitator, put us at ease quickly and allowed us to share safely and honestly.”

CliftonStrengths Teambuilding Workshop for Koinonia Inclusion Network (KIN)

It was such a joy to facilitate this CliftonStrengths (StrengthsFinder) team building workshop. I was challenged to be truly inclusive. There were participants who were visually impaired, hearing impaired and another one was in wheel chair. I have to re-design certain activities, change the pace, enrol support from the participants as I facilitate this workshop.

I am glad to be able to play a small part of contributing to a group of people whose work is to support, develop and empower communities in Singapore in the area of disability inclusion.
