This team coaching session was conducted for Kingmaker Consultancy as part of their team retreat in Batam, Indonesia. The focus was on change management. The session used Gallup's CliftonStrengths profiling tool alongside ontological coaching to help team members identify their dominant talent themes and explore how different talents help and hinder in change work. Participants left with deeper self-awareness and a shared framework to manage change within the organization.

Summary:
This was a Team Coaching session done for the Kingmaker Consultancy team, held at Batam, Indonesia on 19 April 2026. There was a total of 13 participants. The focus was on Change Management. Using an ontological team coaching approach, we explored distinctions within the change management context and highlighted how the ontological framework is useful for a change management lens.

We went into a facilitated activity to create team safety and used that activity to launch into deeper conversations on what are potential challenges if everything remains status quo and the change initiatives failed. From there, we launch into the idea of why change and what we are changing from.

The result was that in the session, we went deeper in conversations. There was greater openness and vulnerability between the team members. There were deeper level of curiosity as different individuals shared how they not just wanted to see a successful change initiative but also a successful breakthrough in their personal and professional growth.

We rounded up the sessions by breaking into departments and focusing on listening to each other’s hope and fears on change and practical ways to support each other.
