Singapore CliftonStrengths Coaching Skills Workshop for Leaders
This CliftonStrengths coaching skills workshop was conducted for a group of 21 leaders from Cantonment Primary School. The session used Gallup's CliftonStrengths profiling tool alongside ontological coaching to help the leaders gain coaching skills by practicing with templated tools in the context of work reviews and developmental conversations. Participants left with more confidence in using the tools to have CliftonStrengths coaching conversations with their job holders.
Context:
This was a series of two CliftonStrengths workshop delivered for Cantonment Primary. The school wanted to build a strengths-based approach among staff and with the students and believe the initiative must start off from the staff themselves. So two sessions were designed - a team building workshop for all the staff and a coaching skills workshop for the leaders to implement strengths coaching across the staff as a start to the strengths-based approach.
Summary:
This was the second workshop delivered for the school. The focus for this session was on strengthening the language between the leaders and to give them time to practice coaching with a couple of templated tools designed to make strengths coaching accessible to leaders. The school leaders bought in to the idea that using CliftonStrengths to coach and develop the staff can create a more sustained approach in the long run.
During the session, the leaders had time to practice the tool with three different scenarios to help them see the relevance and simplicity of using the tools. Participants left the session with adequate practice and many felt confident to bring the tools for use in their next work review.
