Emerging Leadership Program - Coaching skills with Corestrengths

𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞

Leadership is developing awareness of our autopilot mode especially in how we show up at work and under conflicts. Awareness practice allows for conscious and adaptive behaviors to be better leaders in the long run.

This was a key learning for quite a few of the participants in the 4.5 days emerging leadership program that finished before the National day weekend.

Participants came from different APAC countries including 🇨🇳 China, 🇮🇳 India, 🇹🇭 Thailand, 🇮🇩 Indonesia, 🇲🇾 Malaysia and 🇸🇬 Singapore.

One of the themes was focused on developing selfawareness and selfmanagement as a key leadership competency.

We did a lot of coaching conversations to practice empathy🫶🏼 and at the same time holding people accountable for their performance 📊

Had another great time of partnership and co-facilitating with Damien O'Malley. His humor and strong people engagement complements my direct and laser coaching style with candid feedback.

How are we like when we are on autopilot mode as leaders, parents, spouse etc?Inviting you to reflect together.

Participants left with deeper self-awareness and a shared strengths language to strengthen team collaboration.Interested in a similar workshop for your team? Explore CliftonStrengths Workshops →"

Did a full day CliftonStrengths workshop for the WSG Partners and Operations team. Focused on team building and how to leverage the talents to be more effective. As an operations team, it was extremely hard for everyone to come together so the opportunity created was treasured by the whole team.

There was great feedback and I was delighted to spend the day with them.

How do we show up under pressure?

Leadership is being aware of our core strengths and how we show up under conflicts and high stress situations.

This was a key take away for many leaders during the leadership labs. The labs consist of 3 hours of high intensity activities where leaders had to learn how to collaborate and perform under pressure. The labs were designed to mirror real time work situations and to help leaders notice how they show up in their autopilot modes, especially under pressure.

Had a very enriching and fruitful time with 34 leaders from different APAC countries including China, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. It was a 4.5 days leadership development program in Singapore.

Had a great time coaching at the side, sharing observations and give direct feedback so that the leaders can be sharpened and be more aware. My #Activator, #Communication and #Command talents were very engaged.

Looking forward to next run the following week!

This statement was shared by a Singaporean leader when I asked the room “What makes a great leader?”

It was my first time hearing this response after two decades of leadership work.

And it is very refreshing and deeply inspiring. That moment struck me deeply.

🤔How much did this person walk the talk?

Out of curiosity, I interviewed (discreetly) two members in the same room. Both had great feedback about this leader and how happy and engaged they are at work.
✅ Lovely.

How did I experience this person through the whole day? Surely such a nugget of wisdom had to come from one who practice this truth consistently.

That leader made me (a facilitator) feel safe to engage freely. There was curiosity to learn, to hear my pov. That leader also created a space where people engaged deeply and freely. There was much openness and vulnerability though-out the day.
✅ I experienced safety.

This was a whole day workshop at NUS Central library diving into #StrengthsBasedleadership. Using the data, we unpacked why some leaders meet followers’ needs and why some don’t. We explored how leaders can specifically meet certain needs of the teams through customized actions and behaviors based on the team’s CliftonStrengths data.

It was a delightful day spent. Time flew by very fast for a full day workshop and that is always a good indication that we were in flow mode.
