CliftonStrengths Group Coaching - Motion For Impact
[Hit the Pause Button]
In coaching, one of the common moves that coaches do is to hit the pause button. This move is done intentionally to slow things down and to invite people to observe their mental & emotional states. By doing that, the aim is to facilitate awareness and learning.
Different ones at Motion got to do that yesterday as we had a group coaching session together. We hit the pause button after three consecutive weeks of back to back events.
We explored assumptions behind team work. We talked about how to collaborate better. We talked about how to better understand each other using each other’s CliftonStrengths profiles.
It was a good pause.

CliftonStrengths (StrengthsFinder) Group Coaching - Motion For Impact
As a Team Coach at Motion For Impact, I look into not just the well-being but also the personal development of individuals in the team. Did a short group coaching session using CliftonStrengths (StrengthsFinder) with the newcomers including some of our interns from Singapore Institute of Technology. There were some really deep sharing and it was an awesome time with the ladies at Motion!
Strengthening Relationships: Coaching with YWAM Couple
Couple Coaching Session: This was a very memorable session. One was my mentor who helped me intentionally with character building when I started my career. Joseph Chean is also director of YWAM Singapore. His wife, coincidentally, was my Secondary School form teacher who impacted me in my youth. I realized how coaching requires so much trust between the parties especially when it comes to coaching in the context of marriage and family relationships. So much vulnerabilities are revealed and trust between each other is critical. The session also did 2 things for me.
it confirms in my heart that I am deeply passionate about what I do.
It made me realized that it is courage that kept me going. Even though I could see myself as an experienced coach, I still felt inadequate to do this coaching session. In the end, the session seemed to do more wonders for me! I realized that if they had not sowed in my life, I will not have been who I am today. I have learnt courage from them and I was determined to practice courage in moving forward. I’m immensely grateful for the trust shown in me.
Hope this short reflection will encourage those of you who need courage to overcome the challenges ahead!

CliftonStrengths Parenting Talk in Singapore for Queenstown Primary School
Immediately after landing in #Singapore, did a #Gallup #CliftonStrengths #Parenting Talk for a parents support group for Queenstown Primary School. Am amazed by the turnout early in the morning since most parents are at work during this time. Had the principal and the vice-principal in the session as well. I shared on the science behind the strengths based approach, including the Strengths based model and framework. Other than the concepts, I also shared some of my stories and insights on Strengths based parenting, especially the fresh experiences arising out of my family holiday in Sydney. The parents were quite engaged and asked lots of questions. There were lots of interaction. Looking forward to a follow up parents and children workshop where we can go deeper into helping families develop a Strengths based culture.

Singapore StrengthsFinder Personalized Coaching

CliftonStrengths (former StrengthsFinder) Talent themes are neutral. They can be used in wise ways and be powerful instruments to impact others. Sometimes, they are used in not so wise ways and the results often are negative in nature. One of the benefits of coaching is to provide clues and guidance to help individuals aim their talent themes towards a positive outcome. And so I had a short meet up with Natali and we enjoyed a Singapore delicacy, Bak Ku Teh, together. More than just enjoying the food, we also discussed about how she can aim her strengths towards desirable outcomes. We discussed some potential blindspots as well. Nat gave me very valuable feedback about what she learnt and took away from our coaching conversation. She particularly felt she benefitted from some of the analogies I used to help her process her decision making. It was a fruitful meet up! From top professional and business leaders to young working adults, coaching others gives me joy and a huge sense of satisfaction!

Singapore CliftonStrengths 1 on 1 Meet Up and Coaching
Singapore #CliftonStrengths #Coaching
It always feels long and short. It's been a long time since we met and the time of meet up seems so short! A meet up like this tells me how much I enjoy pouring into peoples' lives. We shared our journeys and stories and listened to one another's heart. We talked about each other's strengths, the life and journey of entrepreneurship and each other's future plans. We shared personal challenges and encouraged one another. And of course, as #Activators, we have to talk about what actions we are taking! To top it up, we had such nice burgers for dinner! I’m glad this guy co-founded Glyph Coffee. Check the place out!
