CliftonStrengths (StrengthsFinder) Workshop Program and Ontological Team Coaching - Singapore Public Service

CliftonStrengths Team Workshop and ontological team coaching Program for NSCS Senior Management by Singapore StrengthsFinder Expert Coach Victor Seet

This program felt like the perfect case study for me as I look to create one that brings the best of what I have to meet the needs of organisations and teams.

It was a very fulfilling day spent with a group of seven directors. It was fulfilling for two reasons.
1. The group was very engaged, participative and took risks to learn.
2. The designed format of a Cliftonstrengths workshop followed by an ontological team coaching to focus on application went very well.

Objectives of the session:
1. For each leader to gain greater self awareness and dive deeper into their individual strengths and weaknesses.

2. For the team to deepen their level of trust collectively.

3. For the team to understand the strengths and aspirations of each person (particularly the team leader) to better collaborate, and jointly make decisions together.

Brief Summary of the Day:
MORNING: We started with a CliftonStrengths discovery workshop, covering the full 34 CliftonStrengths results. There were lots of conversations and activities to help the team engage with each other in a very light-hearted way. There were lots of laughter and many great questions were asked. The activities were specifically designed to help each leader listen to how each other think, feel and behave. This set up the context for the team to build trust and to go deeper with each other as the day moves along.

AFTERNOON: We started with a focus on application. I did some ontological team coaching. I started by inviting each team member to share openly about how they felt about the team dynamics and trust level of the team. I also invited the team leader to share the aspirations for the team.

As we move along, there was an opportunity to create a shift in the team’s mood, I Invited the team to take some risks together. We did some trust building activities and gave each other real time feedback. The mood of the team started to shift and the conversations went deeper. Team members started to make requests to each other to help with uncovering leadership blindspots and to grow together. One team member summed up the discussion - “we have never had this kind of conversation with each other in a team setting. Let’s continue to open up, take risks and build deeper trust with each other.”

We rounded the day by going back to CliftonStrengths and ended off with conversations of how we want to leverage each person’s strengths. There was a deeper sense of respect and camaraderie created by the end of the day.

Overall workshop ratings (7 participants): 9.1/10
Feedback given by Team Leader: “I really benefitted from understanding my team members better and having the opportunity to articulate what I hope to see in the org and the support I need. Victor is a great facilitator, put us at ease quickly and allowed us to share safely and honestly.”

CliftonStrengths (StrengthsFinder) Group Coaching - Motion For Impact

CliftonStrengths Group Coaching Program for Motion Creative Agency by Team Coach Victor Seet

As a Team Coach at Motion For Impact, I look into not just the well-being but also the personal development of individuals in the team. Did a short group coaching session using CliftonStrengths (StrengthsFinder) with the newcomers including some of our interns from Singapore Institute of Technology. There were some really deep sharing and it was an awesome time with the ladies at Motion!

Team Coaching (Strategic Leadership Retreat)

Team Coaching Faciliation for Strategic Leadership Retreat Offsite for Motion by Singapore Coach Victor Seet

I had a full day of leadership strategic session offsite recently. It was a refreshing time. I facilitated a team check-in. I helped set up a team agreement. I offered some perspectives and facilitated some discussions. When different leaders facilitated, I observed the team dynamics and intervene when a shift was needed.

What was new wasn’t what I did.

What was new was how I did it. I did it from a role of an in-house team coach.

It was a very different way of being as compared to being an external facilitator.

I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

CliftonStrengths (StrengthsFinder) Workshop - Motion For Impact

CliftonStrengths Team Building Workshop Program for Motion Creative Agency by Singapore StrengthsFinder Coach Victor Seet

[What do I do as a team coach in Motion?]

Using Motion’s language, I help individuals and the team shift their “ways of being”. I help them see ways to engage with purpose and most importantly with CARE. When we do that, the results speak for itself. The team members trust each other. Clients trust us.

We ended this week learning strengths together. It was a dedicated time to stop and reflect, to listen and to know each other in a deeper way, to build respect and care.

The Motion team saw how the values and beliefs held in Motion: For Impact was deeply connected to Juliana Mattar’s strengths. As a team, we acknowledged her leadership and how she showed care.

Felt so energized after the session. I love being able to apply the different ontological coaching process into this space!

Team Coaching at Motion: 2022 Moments

Team Coaching Session Learnings and Gratitude Program for Motion Creative Agency by Singapore Coach Victor Seet

It’s been one month into my new role as an in-house #teamcoach at Motion: For Impact

I observed that the pace is fast. Yet, we can be fast and intentional. Creating capacity in oneself and in teams is about intentionally creating the space for #learning.

We came together to do a team session focusing on 2022 moments. The idea was to reflect on key moments of 2022 to draw out personal learnings.

The session started in a light hearted way before everyone did some serious self-work. We acknowledged the highlights and lowlights and drew out learnings. We ended with a time of gratitude to have closure.

The rest of the day was focused on how the business has developed and we ended the day by inviting different business partners to join us for a celebration meal.

For me, the day can be summarized by two phrases:

- Joyful growth

- Connection to self and others
