Singapore CliftonStrengths Leadership Workshop - Johnson & Johnson

This CliftonStrengths Leadership workshop was conducted for the leadership team from Johnson & Johnson, held in Singapore on 25th April 2016. The session used Gallup's CliftonStrengths profiling tool to help individuals identify their dominant talent themes and explore how to apply them in their leadership work, particularly on collaboration across teams and in in leading others. Participants left with deeper self-awareness and a shared strengths language to strengthen team collaboration.

Context:
After four CliftonStrengths team workshops for different teams in Johnson and Johnson starting from marketing, there was an initiative to do a session for all the leaders. The intent is to understand how the leadership team can collaborate more effectively and understand how their talents drive decision making in the business. This was the fifth JnJ session. Some of the participants are team leaders who had already gone through the CliftonStrengths workshop with their respective teams. The focus in this leadership session was on team building, decision making and leadership collaboration across the APAC leadership team.

Summary:
This was a customised 5.5 hours CliftonStrengths Leadership Workshop designed and developed specifically for a group of 11 senior APAC leaders from Johnson & Johnson. The session was held on 25 April 2016, in one of the JnJ offices in Singapore. These leaders wear different hats and have responsibility over strategy, customer development, marketing, innovation, products and analytics.

In the first part, we focused on the Strengths fundamentals and the Strengths language to get all the leaders up to speed on what the talent themes were. We created opportunities for the participants to interact and understand each other The focus was on learning individual’s talent themes and helping the leaders understand how their individual CliftonStrengths themes shape the way they work and relate to one another.

The second part was focused on leadership development. We covered the four domains of leadership, how to leverage strengths for partnerships, explored trust in teams and how our strengths powerfully influence our leadership style and our communication styles. Throughout the day, we had group coaching, many facilitated discussions, experiential activities and individual reflections.

Participants left with greater self-awareness and practical insights for more effective business and team leadership.
