CliftonStrengths Leadership Workshop for VF HR Group - Hong Kong

This CliftonStrengths leadership workshop was conducted for the senior HR leaders from the different brands owned under VF Corporation. The workshop was held in Hong Kong. This session used Gallup's CliftonStrengths profiling tool to help leaders identify their dominant talent themes and explore how to apply them in their business strategies and team leadership. Participants left with deeper self-awareness and gained a new strengths language that could be powerfully deployed to strengthen team culture.

Context:
After a couple of successful CliftonStrengths leadership workshops that were rolled out first to the leaders from the Jeanswear group under VF Brands, the APAC HR senior leaders got wind of the new type of results especially in team engagement and team dynamics that were picking up. This was a leadership workshop attended by senior HR leaders responsible for different brands in VF, including Vans, North Face, Timberland, Lee Jeans, Kipling. The VP of the HR Group also wanted to learn and experience CliftonStrengths.

Summary:
This was a two full days CliftonStrengths Leadership Workshop designed and developed specifically for this group of senior leaders and the workshop was held in Hong Kong. Participants included HR leaders from India, China, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore. Many of the leaders were exposed to CliftonStrengths for the very first time.

Day 1 covers the Strengths fundamentals and the strengths language. We facilitated discussions for the participants to interact and understand the different talent themes. The focus was on learning individual’s talent themes and helping participants understand how their individual CliftonStrengths themes shape the way they work and relate to one another. We also explored Strengths-based mindsets and what a strengths culture could possibly look like for VF.

Day 2 was focused on applications specifically for talent and leadership development. We covered the four domains of leadership. We also explored how our strengths powerfully influence our leadership style and our communication styles so that the HR group understands how CliftonStrengths can be engaged for the different stakeholders in the business. Throughout the two days, we had group coaching, many facilitated discussions, experiential activities and individual reflections.

Participants left with greater self-awareness and practical applications in the area of Human resources.
