Summary of Session:
Flew from Singapore to Hong Kong to conduct a Full Day CliftonStrengths Team Communication Workshop with a regional team from Ricardo PLC. Participants were from Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and China. There was a total of 16 participants. The session was held in December 2024.
Morning — Building the Strengths Language
The morning focused on helping the leaders learn their individual CliftonStrengths talent themes through facilitated conversations that deepened mutual understanding of each person's unique profile. Recognising that English was not the first language for many participants, I took particular care to ensure every individual gained genuine ownership of their talent themes — adapting my facilitation style to make the strengths language fully accessible and personally meaningful for the whole group. By lunch time, the energy in the room shifted significantly and everyone was very positive about their strengths. There was significant buy-in.
Afternoon — Team Application and Communication Styles.
The afternoon focused on helping individuals learn their preferred communication styles. We did that through covering the four domains of team strengths and exploring how individual talents shape the way each other connect and collaborate. We also covered how different communication styles create misunderstandings and how to understand each other. We ended that segment with how to leverage strengths to manage conflicts. The closing for the workshop was an uplifting segment where participants practice catching people doing right” using a simple and effective tool.
Was delighted with the outcome! There was great chemistry, lots of good natured banter and laughter. We built on the energy in the morning and maintain engagement through the day.
