Summary:
This was a keynote address done for a group of 50 leaders from Singapore Tourism Board as part of a leadership conference, held in Singapore. The session focuses on integrating strengths intelligence (using cliftonstrengths) with emotional intelligence. This is the 16th time I have delivered a program for STB. Thankful that I can have trust from them.
In the short session, we explored leadership scenarios and how strengths operate in context. We also explored emotional contexts and how strengths are affected depending on the emotional contexts of individuals and teams.
CliftonStrengths (StrengthsFinder) Workshop - Young Working Adults Singapore
Summary:
This was a 3 hours CliftonStrengths (StrengthsFinder) workshop for a small group of young working adults who got connected to each other through a local church setting in Singapore. The session was filled with laughter, energy and vibrancy. It was really fun. The young adults were so hungry to learn and to know how they can use their strengths for their personal relationships, their work and to serve in their church ministries. It is always encouraging for me to hear how others will want to live a purposeful life.
Staying In Your Cutting Edge - Strengths Workshop for Learning Festival
Was invited to speak at a learning festival last week. The coordinator and I deliberated if we should do a short talk about the power of using CliftonStrengths or StrengthsFinder tool.
We went in another direction and I ended up doing a mini workshop that lasted an hour. I facilitated a group of staff from the aviation sector to explore their cutting edge contributions and qualities. The feedback was great and I am thankful for the opportunity to help people get clarity on some of the biggest contributions they can bring regardless of context.

CliftonStrengths (StrengthsFinder) Workshop for YWAM Youth Worker DTS
"This CliftonStrengths workshop was conducted for the youth workers who took part in YWAM Discipleship Training School, held in Singapore. The session used Gallup's CliftonStrengths profiling tool to help the youth workers identify their dominant talent themes and explore how to apply them in their day-to-day roles. .Interested in a similar workshop for your church or ministry? Summary:
Did a CliftonStrengths workshop from an invitation by Joseph Chean, Director of YWAM and personal mentor. The session was part of the Youth Workers Discipleship Training School (DTS). Spent a full day with the different youth workers who came from different countries including Thailand, Nepal, Timor Leste and Singapore. The session focused on understanding self, helping participants to see how their individual CliftonStrengths themes shape the way they work and relate to one another. Participants left with greater self-awareness and practical insights for personal growth.
It was a very enjoyable workshop and thankful to fellow Gallup coach James Ong who helped me out to facilitate the session.
Strengthening Relationships: Coaching with YWAM Couple
Couple Coaching Session: This was a very memorable session. One was my mentor who helped me intentionally with character building when I started my career. Joseph Chean is also director of YWAM Singapore. His wife, coincidentally, was my Secondary School form teacher who impacted me in my youth. I realized how coaching requires so much trust between the parties especially when it comes to coaching in the context of marriage and family relationships. So much vulnerabilities are revealed and trust between each other is critical. The session also did 2 things for me.
it confirms in my heart that I am deeply passionate about what I do.
It made me realized that it is courage that kept me going. Even though I could see myself as an experienced coach, I still felt inadequate to do this coaching session. In the end, the session seemed to do more wonders for me! I realized that if they had not sowed in my life, I will not have been who I am today. I have learnt courage from them and I was determined to practice courage in moving forward. I’m immensely grateful for the trust shown in me.
Hope this short reflection will encourage those of you who need courage to overcome the challenges ahead!

Game of Life Career Program - Secondary Students including those with Special Needs
Strengths-Based Game of Life Career Program for 200 Secondary students.
This program was designed to be part of a Career Awareness Day for a particular Secondary School. The special part of this program was that within the 200 odd students were 15 high functioning students with autism. It was the first time we are running such a program for a very diverse group of students. From the game, we observed there was a great number of students who willingly reach out to help others achieve the goals. We also saw many students exhibiting strong character traits such as resilience, determination and compassion through out the game. There was also a huge range of emotions being flushed out and there were many intense moments in the Game, which was a huge sign of strong participation and engagement. The game plan went better than expected. While there were areas which can be improved to get even better engagements and partnerships from the diverse group of students, it was overall a day that was very fulfilling. I felt very happy to read some of the comments by the students with autism: “I am very proud to be exposed to new things during the game and I learnt that it takes a lot of hard work and determination to succeed in life.” “I am very happy to make new friends from another school and I learnt that I need to take certain steps in life to go towards the job I want. I am grateful that the facilitators organize such a meaningful event for our job preparations. I hope these help offered can bring me to a brighter future.” “I managed to persuade some people to help me in my business and it succeeded. I learnt that I am a good team player and I can be persuasive.”
